Green hydrogen is used as feedstock for processing into various derivatives, such as methanol, methane or ammonia. CAC supports its clients in the selection of suitable technologies for each case of application (feedstock quality, plant capacity etc.) and in the implementation of the best technological solution for the respective individual business case. CAC has access to various technology providers/licensors and we are able to integrate the selected technology into an existing plant network (brown field) or implement it in a new plant (green field). The planning and realization of plants on the basis on third-party technologies has been an integral part of CAC’s service portfolio for 60 years now.

Alternatively, hydrogen and CO2 can also be converted into green “natural gas”. Depending on the application, there is the possibility of feeding it into the existing natural gas grid as an energy storage option or the methane can be processed directly by the Client. CAC has realized several underground natural gas storage projects in the past and has the necessary know-how.

As a carbon-free energy store, ammonia is a product that is suitable to be separated back into hydrogen (and nitrogen) after transportation to the end user. It is also an important raw material for other branches of industry. CAC has been working in close cooperation with various technology providers for many years and can already boast successfully realized references in conventional ammonia production.
