One of the first steps for a strategic partnership to support the introduction of synthetic fuels in Japan.

A visit with lasting impact: Last week, representatives of the Japanese ENEOS Corporation visited our demonstration plant at TU Bergakademie Freiberg to learn more about producing synthetic fuels with our MethaFuel® technology and about the continued joint development of our MethaJet® process with the university.

From Saxony to Japan: A Technology Visit Becomes an International Partnership for Synthetic Fuels

Today, this journey reaches another important milestone:

ENEOS Corporation and German eFuel One (GEF1) have announced a strategic partnership to support the introduction of synthetic fuels in Japan and to advance the development of international value chains for low-carbon fuels. At the same time, the agreement marks German eFuel One's first export of synthetic fuels beyond Europe and the first import of synthetic fuels into Asian market.

 For CAC ENGINEERING, this is a significant development. Together with GEF1, we are delivering Germany's first large-scale industrial production plant for methanol-based synthetic gasoline. At the heart of the project is our proprietary MethaFuel® technology, which converts green hydrogen and recycled CO₂ into high-quality synthetic fuels. The partnership demonstrates that interest in climate-friendly fuels is growing far beyond Europe.

International collaborations like this connect innovative technologies with emerging markets and represent an important step towards more sustainable mobility.
